Send-off Complete!

Scott is on his way to Alaska - the beginning of the expedition has officially commenced! We left the house at 3:30am along with ~175 pounds of gear and food, after a late night of assembling Ziploc bags of Gorp, a last minute trip to REI, and lots of meticulous packing. I had to take a photo of his cart full of bags before we turned everything over to security this a.m., which I'll post soon. He is now making his way to The Last Frontier with a nearly full moon in the sky. Godspeed.

Jan.1- Purchase supplies (food, fuel) in Mendoza; shuttle to Penitentes (8,500 ft.) near Los Puquios
Jan.2- Trek Vacas Valley to Pampas de Lenas (9,200 ft.)
Jan.3- Trek to Casa de Piedra (10,500 ft.)
Jan.4- Trek to Plaza Argentina Base Camp (13,800 ft.) and pick up gear that was "muled in"
Jan.5- Carry load of supplies to Camp I (15,750 ft.) and return to Base Camp (13,800 ft.)
Jan.6- Rest Day at Base Camp (13,800 ft.)
Jan.7- Climb to Camp I (15,750 ft)
Jan.8- Carry load to Camp II (18,400 ft.) and descend to Camp I to sleep
